BORDEAUX - FRANCE

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE

GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO TO BORDEAUX

- Although Bordeaux is a very big city, it can be visited on foot. Most attractions are right next to the centre.

- Bordeaux is in France, therefore European Community citizens do not need a passport and the currency used is the Euro.

- If you want to use public transport, install the TBM app, which is used for buses, boats and trams.

- If you love bicycles, Bordeaux has a lot of them and a large part of the population uses them as a means of transport. There are bicycles everywhere and it is very easy to rent one.

- If you can, stay in the Saint Pierre district, here you have everything and you are close to everything. It is also a very safe neighborhood.

- Use the bus to and from the airport. It is very easy and inexpensive.

- Bordeaux is not a cheap city, but neither is it the most expensive in Europe. What we found higher in terms of prices was the night outings. You also have many baguettes being sold at small kiosks at very affordable prices.

- Bordeaux is a safe city, but especially at night, try to walk along lit and busy streets. You will see some "suspicious" people but from experience, they don't mess with you and don't do anything.

- Contrary to what we're used to, in Bordeaux there aren't many souvenir shops and it's hard to find one. On Rue Saint Remi, close to Place de la Bourse, you have 2 shops.

- If you have time, go to Saint-Émilion and take the bus. See how HERE.

- Although Bordeaux is in France, we always advise you to take out travel insurance from Iati (see HERE).
