KRABI - AO NANG

Chilling in Ao Nang Beach – Krabi! Beach, hot water, sun and fun, we reached one of Thailand coast zones.

We arrived via AirAsia from Chiang Mai direct to Krabi. From the airport it was easy to reach Ao Nang. We had a transfer waiting for us with our name on the way out of the airport. Everything perfect, good car, clean with AC. We used Krabi Shuttle.

On arrival the landscape changes radically and yes, we begin to see the typical Thailand beaches images that we imagine. We stayed at Aonang Green Park Bungalow right in the center of Ao Nang. Friendly and super well located hotel.

Ao Nang is a small town with a great stretch of beach, nothing to catch your breath but beautiful and well worth the visit. Many people stay in Ao Nang, as it’s very easy to catch boats to various islands and famous beaches in the area. It’s quite easy and affordable to catch a boat and go spend a day on another beach and come back at the end of the day.

That’s what we did. We went to see the famous Railay Beach. Accessible only by boat due to the high cliffs of limestone. The journey takes about 20 minutes. It’s fast and we guarantee spectacular views along the way. Railay Beach is definitely a beautiful beach, super calm environment and yes, it seems like paradise.

From the first sensations we remembered was the temperature of the hot water… Super hot, for us who are used to bathing in the Atlantic waters.

In all our trips we always go with the security of having a Travel Insurance.

We always take out travel insurance with IATI because it has the best conditions and prices. You'll see it's the best price! And if you use our link, you get a 5% discount.

- Really, take advantage of the discount!

We also did the monkey trail.

As the name implies it is a trail where we can cross with monkeys (we did not see any). Prepare your legs because it can be tiring (it is!), lots of wooden steps but in the end it’s worth it.

To get there you must go to the end of the beach and then there are indications. On arrival we have the guard waiting for us to register and control after our departure.

Monkey trail connects Ao Nang to the beach where the Centara Hotel is.

Regarding bars and nightclubs, there’s nothing gay in Ao Nang. However, there are several very fun and friendly bars where you can drink, dance and meet people until very late…
The bar we chose was Chang Bar. It’s in an alley, square with only bars around it. Very fun and noisy!

As a conclusion Ao Nang is a recreation area: beach, restaurants, nightlife and a lot of Thailand typical commerce.

It’s the perfect blend of hot weather and fun. Ao Nang doesn’t have the charm of the neighbor Railay, but the level of structures is much more interesting and doesn’t get so isolated.
