SETENIL DE LAS BODEGAS

Once in Ronda, the trip to Setenil de las Bodegas is very fast.

About 20 minutes by car and so we get to know another fantastic Pueblo Blanco.
Going by car the best place to park is at Setenil Parking Campo Futbol, which is right at the beginning of the pueblo. Is very close to the center and tourist attractions.

Setenil is already in the province of Cadiz. In a nutshell, we can say that it’s a small village that was literally built under rocks and one of the most beautiful pueblos in Spain. Setenil also tops the list of the best unknown destinations in Europe.

The rocks have become the roofs and walls of some houses and even some streets are covered by them.

The streets are of white houses, narrow and some steep but there are two unmissable streets: the Cueva del Sol, next to the river that is partially covered and the Cuevas de la Sombra.
You also have the castle located at the top of the pueblo and some viewpoints where you can see all the beauty, charm and architecture of the pueblo.

You can and must walk through the pueblo all the way. Prepare your legs because many streets are going up and in the middle of the walk you can visit the Hermitage of San Sebastian, Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation, Antigua Casa Consistorial among many others… And it is mandatory to pass by Besame en this Rincon which in English means “Kiss me in this corner”.

ARRIVE EARLY AND EAT BOCADILLOS!

This place is very different from what we have already seen and deserves a whole day dedicated to it, but arrive early, because it’s a destination very visited by the Spanish, especially at the weekend. If you want to eat in the village, we recommend La Dehesa Setenil, which is located on the other side of Calle Cuevas del Sol.

It is the ideal place to eat an Iberico ham sandwich or Bocadillos as they say in Spain, have a drink and you can even buy one series of typical products.
