RONDA

We arrived in Ronda from Torremolinos, a journey that takes about 1h30m by car.

We had already booked an apartment right in the center through Airbnb for 3 nights.
Ronda is a city on top of a mountain with a deep gorge that divides the city in 2. Ronda is one of the most beautiful and visited cities in Andalusia.
The city can and should be visited on foot, and we guarantee that you’ll be impressed by the views from the top of the mountain and the impressive Puente Nuevo, which connects both sides of the city.

The city beyond the gorge and the Puente Nuevo has a lot of reasons to visit that will make you lose in its streets, especially in the old part, such as the Palacio de Mondragon, Palacio Marques de Salvatierra, the home of Rei Mouro, Iglesia Matriz, etc…

Prepare your legs and go down the canyon along the path that is in the old part. It’s easy to find, just cross the bridge to the old part and always follow the signs. From the bottom, you can get another idea of the size of the gorge and the magnificent bridge.

We could not forget to highlight the fantastic gastronomy of the area!

Try the tapas and typical dishes, you will not regret it, as well as the wines of the region.

If you want a less touristic experience, we recommend Bodega San Francisco, which is right in front of the La Conception parking on Calle Comandante Salvador Carrasco. Here you will have an authentic experience with tapas from 1 euro and good Spanish beer at 1 euro.

Go early if you want a table, because then long lines are formed waiting for a seat. The best is to go around 7pm!

If you want another type of experience, go to the Tragata restaurant, which is very close to Plaza de Espana, on Calle Nueva.

If you want to enjoy a little of the night, we recommend the bar Meraky which is right behind Mc Donalds or the El Embrujo bar which is very close to the San Francisco Winery.

Ronda is one of the 5 pueblos that are part of the white pueblos route. All of them deserves a visit, we could only go to 2 but we promise to visit the rest.
